COC Netherlands stands up for the interests of lesbians, homosexuals, bisexuals, trans and intersex people (LGBTIs). We are committed to equal rights, emancipation and social acceptance of LGBTI people in the Netherlands and abroad. We strive for a diverse and inclusive world where people can develop to their fullest potential, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, and gender characteristics. The COC was founded in 1946, making it the oldest surviving LGBTI organization in the world. As one of the few LGBTI organizations, we have a special advisory status with the United Nations.
